Perspective: Lets Talk Economics! The May 2014 Milan/Zurich Study Abroad Experience was put together to learn more about the Principles of Economics - on a Micro and Macro Level! Go to an ATM and pull out 100 francs (CHF), which is equivalent to $112 USD. (Plus any fees your bank may charge) A Mexican Dinner costs 36.40fr or Fondue for one person is 25.50fr. Breakfast of Coffee, Croissant, OJ, and a bowl of Museli costs 28fr!!!! A small bottle of water w/lunch is 5.50fr. The Minimum Wage in Zurich is 19fr. The only exceptions are the youth of 16 and under .. They make 16fr an hour and some waiters who earn tips. We met one waiter who makes 22fr an hour. This explains why it is so expensive in Zurich, Switzerland. The moral of this post is: Start saving your money if you considering participating in a study abroad experience. Every penny helps!
