Perspective and the loan shark affair... Sometimes things look a little different if you simply cross the street and get another perspective. Christians love to talk about how we inherited sin as if this is a genetic defect that somehow makes us all in debt to God. If thats the case then why should we be held accountable for a congenital defect over which we had absolutely no control and how does a genetic defect put a person in debt? Think of the outrage of people if suddenly legislation was passed that people with any sort of genetic defect like dwarfism or autism and such were suddenly indebted to the government and the only way to pay the debt was by torture and execution! Yet Christians think God is perfectly justified in condemning the whole race of mankind because somehow ONE man by disobeying ONE commandment ONE time somehow accrued a debt with God of which all his descendants would be obliged to pay back by suffering and dying. All that notwithstanding, if those same people dont accept certain doctrines and go to church and thank that God for their miserable lives, after they die theyll slowly burn in an unquenchable fire in hideous torment ...forever and forever and forever.... ...Then thousands of years after that ONE mans ONE act of disobedience, God supposedly sends his son to pay the debt that hundreds of millions have suffered and died for (and no telling how many are barking in hell by now) but yet after the debt is paid guess what? Yep, now billions of people are suffering and dying for a debt supposedly paid for two thousand years ago! Man, what a loan shark that guy is!
