Peru update: Im alive! I have not found any Incan gold or the fountain of youth yet but I still have plenty of time. The natives are awesome though Im still waiting for them to except me as their all powerful god (Side note: must download more astounding android apps to dazzle the simple minds of this primitive culture) But seriously, Peru is beautiful. Our community has expanded much since my arrival. Weve modified our kitchen, upgraded our shanty work shed to earthbag walls and are currently designing and testing a system to harness energy from a hydroelectric vortex in a nearby river (will upload photos soon). But dont let those fancy words fool you, we are definitely still roughing it. Our daily worries consist of protecting our crops from half inch leaf cutting ants, waiting for rain to fill our drinking, washing and cooking water reserves, keeping jungle rats from eating through our food supply and protecting our skin from the million and one insects that seem to love gringo hide (Out here Im considered a gringo! Yes!!) Surprisingly, the most painful bite/sting Ive received so far was from a cute and cuddly looking caterpillar. Little bastards. My internet access is very limited so reaching me will be as well. Ive uploaded a video of an amazing little creature that uses bio luminescence to power two bright lights located near its eyes.
