Pete Ricketts stand of the XL Pipeline directly from the candidates recent debate on NET: The candidates’ were asked their views on the pipeline after state officials this week disclosed information about train shipments of Bakken crude from North Dakota through Nebraska. Republican Pete Ricketts, a former business executive with TD Ameritrade, said he supports building Keystone XL because it would be safer to move the oil by pipeline than by rail. “We spilled more oil last year moving it by rail than the previous 37 years combined because so much more oil is being moved,” Ricketts said. “So from that standpoint we want to build it. We also want to build it from the stand point that it’s going to create about 3,000 jobs while it’s being built and about 300 jobs thereafter.” In case you didnt know Omahas Warren Buffett has dumped millions of dollars into Chuck Hassebrooks campaign. Why? Because Buffett doesnt care about the environment, he happens to own Union Pacific and will profit greatly by not having the Pipeline built. His trains will be the ONLY way to transport oil over our State. So much for Corporate greed making the decision. I personally would rather have another pipeline, we have many now running across Nebraska and have not had any environmental impact, than railroads transporting the oil and could crash anywhere in our state and create a biohazard. Dont let Chucky fool you, hes got larger corporate money behind him than you think! Please educate yourself on the candidates before you vote. Their is a clear choice for Nebraska--Pete Ricketts!
