Peter Cushing Frankenstein Created Woman Trailer: The fourth in the Hammer / Frankenstein series, though the idea of the Baron turning his skills to creating a woman had been on the table when Hammer were planning their sequel to The Curse of Frankenstein in 1957...but scriptwriter Jimmy Sangster opted for the gruesome cannibal story instead. So, it took until 1967 for John Elder (Anthony Hinds) to dust off the idea... Frankenstein Created Woman went into production at Bray Studios on 4 July 1966. It was Hammers penultimate production there, before packing up and moving off to Elstree film studios. The relatively unknown SUSAN DENBERG does a very fine job as Christina, but if you could have cast the role from Hammer films PREVIOUS actresses or ANY actresses of the time...who would you have chosen to play the role? *TRIVIA: After Frankenstein Created Woman, Denberg returned home to Austria. Over the following years, a series of sensational tabloid newspaper rumors surfaced that Denberg had died of a drug overdose in 1967 or that she had become mentally unstable as a result of using the drug LSD. In actuality, Denberg is currently (December 2014) alive and well, and living the quiet life in Klagenfurt, Austria, under her real name, Dietlinde Zechner.
