Peter Ryder VOTER’S REGISTRATION DRIVE Good afternoon Residents The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will be holding a registration drive on Saturday, 9 November 2013 and on Sunday, 10 November 2013 between 08H00 and 17H00 and will be visiting all voting stations to give voters who are not registered the chance to do so. There are four [4] poling stations in ward 8, namely: 1) PE Riding Club: Residents that must register here are everyone who lives south of the railway line. The borders are: Macon Road, Clermont Street, Montmedy Road, Cromwell Street and Kraggakamma Road. (Lorraine-south, Kamma Park and Kamma Heights) 2) Lorraine Methodist Church, Luneville Road: Residents that must register here include the following area: even numbers between 162 and 300 Circular Drive, even numbers in Bordeaux Avenue, Marne Avenue (even number) and Dijon Road between numbers 50 and 102. (Woodlands, Goldwater and Lorraine north of the railway line) 3) Lorraine Primary School, Meuse Avenue: Residents that must register here include the following area: even numbers between 302 and 308 Circular Drive, even numbers between 216 and 318 Kragga Kamma Road, even numbers between 2 and 48 Dijon Road, Marne Avenue (uneven numbers) an all the uneven numbers in Bordeaux Avenue. (Lorraine north of the railway line, Kragga Kamma Park, Weybridge Park, Hancorn) 4) Christian Life Centre, Glenroy Drive, Glenroy: Residents that must register here include the area between Dorfman Crescent (uneven numbers), Barnard Street (uneven numbers), N2 freeway, Riverstone Road, Truro Crescent, Lancing Road (even numbers), Walker Drive, Sandton Road and everyone north of Kraggakamma Road. (Includes Beverley Grove, Ben Kamma, Willow Glen, Brymore, Kamma Ridge, Kamma Creek, Pine Grove, Glenroy, Treehaven, Vikingvale, part of Framesby Extension and part of Kabega) Who qualifies to register as a voter? A South African citizen who is- • 16 years or older (able to vote from the age of 18 years) • In possession of a green, bar-coded identity document or the new Smart card Who needs to (re-)register? South African citizens who are- • First-time voters • Registered voters, but have moved house Please take your green bar-coded ID document with you.
