(Peter) There has been a spike in burglaries in Featherston recently, many committed by youths during daylight hours. I am informed that the Police have deployed additional resources into Featherston to combat this mini-crime wave, and have identified some of those responsible. As a community we can also play a part through securing our own property (as much as we are physically able to) and/or joining an officially sanctioned community organisation such as Neighbourhood Support or the Community Patrol. Both of these organisations play an important part in crime prevention and contribute to community resilience.
