Peter from the Radical Mycology crew just got back from a trip to Lago Agrio, Ecuador where he helped the Amazon Mycorenewal Project get its new home base set up. He helped the crew down there get a humble jungle mushroom cultivation lab set up, design a multi-trophic mushroom/bacteria/plant/biochar biofiltration system for petroleum contaminated water, as well as collect, identify, and culture petroleum-tolerant fungi growing directly from contaminated pits. AMP is getting set to launch an Indiegogo campaign to fund an 18-month study that will design and test a cost-effective and efficient biofiltration system. Once refined, this system will be made open-source for afflicted communities around the world. If you are interested in volunteering with AMP, or want to learn more check out the AMP site. amazonmycorenewal.org/?cat=3
