Petronas says its multibillion-dollar investment in B.C. liquefied - TopicsExpress

Petronas says its multibillion-dollar investment in B.C. liquefied natural gas could be delayed by at least a decade unless it can secure consensus with its government counterparts by the end of October. Secure consensus about what? “In order to remain competitive, Petronas needs to secure consensus on key principles vital to the success of this project by the end of October,” said Abbas. One of these key principles, at least in the past - but not mentioned in this story - is a ready supply of cheap non-unionated labor. The Australian experience - where there was a finite pool of labor and they demanded high prices / labor jobs - was a learning experience for the LNG companies. They need cheap labor in order to make the investment work. Cheap labor is created by flooding the market, the market is flooded by re-engineering public schools to ensure there is a focus on training students to work in the LNG fields (see BC Jobs for Skills Blueprint). This training is made possible by siphoning 25% of the school based budgeting to private industry to run the training as they know educators would not agree to training rather than educating. A new K-9 program to focus on the value and benefits of LNG. By re-engineering the public education system they will be putting out far more employees than needed - ensuring that labor stays cheap. They will also be helping out the private institutions (including those gearing up to open here) by sending all university bound students to private schools. Clark is desperate to make LNG work - her time a leader depends on it. Is she desperate enough to sell off our public education system? vancouversun/touch/story.html?id=10267293
