Pgh Montessori folks and others: I just called Ms. Mann and scheduled a time on my lunch break Thursday to review the PSSA testing material, as is required before opting out of testing. Were doing this with heavy hearts; the principal tells us it could hurt the school. (We dont know if thats true, but Danielle Staresinic and I are going to wrestle with that question this week.) Heres what our gut/conscience says: We cannot take part in a process that is designed to make public schools fail so as to create a justification for defunding them and steering the money to private interests.
