Pharmakon Shares “Bestial Burden” Short Film, Announces Tour : Source: Latest News – Pitchfork:– Pharmakon, aka Margaret Chardiet, has co-directed (along with Nina Hartmann) a 16-minute short film called “Bestial Burden” to accompany her album of the same title. Filmed in Providence, Rhode Island last August, the film features Chardiet performing in a smokey venue after organs are shredded over her body. Watch it below via Pitchfork.tv. Said Chardiet of the project: The actions aim to break through barriers of live and recorded performance, into the immediate reality. The video extends the music and aesthetics of the album into their visceral forms, and serves as the bodily/visual pairing to coincide with the record, “Bestial Burden”. “I call for actors burning at the stakes, laughing at the flames.” ― Antonin Artaud, The Theater and Its Double Pharmakon also has a tour coming up early next year.
