Phew, I can now settle back down after my blood pressure almost - TopicsExpress

Phew, I can now settle back down after my blood pressure almost hit the roof after that game.....we were lucky to win but sometimes you make your own luck and now we jump to 5th spot in the league..schoolboy defending and lapses in concentration were glaring today. The game started off with Gerrard in a more attacking role which was an error as he was unable to spray the ball with his long passes and build the attack. I dont know what Balotelli is thinking as his body language was awful today, he wanted the ball at his feet in the box but in those positions you have to cover some ground and attack the ball..he had a gaping goal in the 2nd half but hit well over the bar...the 2nd half was calamity jane as we scored off an own goal from Dunne ( who now has 10 own goals in his career) after a quick free kick from Johnson. For all those Mignolet and Johnson bashers out there, these 2 kept us in the game; with over 5 mins to go the impressive Vargas equalized for QPR. In stoppage time we had a break and Coutinho drilled a superb ball into the corner...game over no way! Again our defending was shocking and a quick corner with pace was directed into the near post. With a min or so to go, we broke again and the impressive Sterling ran like the wind to latch onto a through ball and hit it across the box for the qpr defender to toe it into his own net. There are 2 things to note: Super Mario needs to be involve his teammates and stop his propensity to shoot on sight, he has to look up and make the pass. Secondly, we cannot afford to lose Sterling...the owners, the manager, the board, have to tie him up for a lucrative deal cos without a shadow of doubt , he is the man at the moment. A 19 yr old who carries the team on his back , up front. The games are going to come fast and furious now, with Real Madrid coming to Anfield Wed night for a Champions League clash. Walk on walk on.
