Phew! It’s taken us almost a week to get over one of our biggest International Guide Dog Days ever! A very big THANK YOU from Guide Dogs Victoria to all our wonderful volunteers, staff, amazing supporters and, of course, Guide Dogs for helping celebrate the important work of Guide Dogs last Wednesday…what a spectacular, action-packed, with the sun coming out just in time for us! We kicked off the day with the inaugural Take the Lead awareness march commencing in the Royal Botanical Gardens and winding its way through to Federation Square – thank you to Dave Astbury from Richmond Football Club for joining us and showing his support. We also honoured a number of our amazing contributors in a special ceremony at Government House – these five recipients have gone above and beyond to support and represent Guide Dogs Victoria. Congratulations to Greater City of Dandenong, MARS Petcare, Liam Haven, Joan Smith and Barb Bedford. Over the coming weeks you will find out just why this group deserve to be awarded… Another big thank you to Advance for generously donating a year’s worth of dog food for our Take the Lead photo competition – congratulations again to our winner Michelle!
