The Ice Bucket Challenge has gone viral among Boston athletes, and it’s all to raise awareness for ALS and support one of their own -- Pete Frates, the former Boston College baseball captain who is battling the disease. The 29-year-old Frates can no longer speak and is confined to a wheelchair. Here’s how the challenge works. If you’re issued the challenge, you film yourself dumping a bucket of ice over your head, and you then issue the same public challenge to others, who have 24 hours to complete the task.
