Philippians 2:13 (NIV) As time moves farther away from the day - TopicsExpress

Philippians 2:13 (NIV) As time moves farther away from the day my husband became a resident of heaven, I often wonder if he would recognize the woman that he left behind. He encouraged me to venture out beyond our little world. Sometimes I did venture beyond and other times, not so much. As I look back on our years together, I see how he and God were preparing me for the time when I would be the only gate-keeper in our family. Circumstances beyond our control, but fully known to our faithful God. These ponderings have made me realize the beauty of God’s unconditional love for me. He knows my strengths. He knows my weaknesses. He knows my failings. He knows my gifts. He knows all the things that leave me feeling like I don’t measure up. He sees my frustrations while I maneuver through this new single parent life. He knows how I want to run during worship when I see couples holding hands at church. However, He chooses to love me simply because He created me. He always keeps my purpose on his day planner. The way my God loves me and the way my Dennie loved me worked together to prepare me for my future. God knew I would have to rely solely on His guidance and only recollections of Dennies wisdom. I serve an exquisitely intentional God. He covers me so completely. He equips me for the things that haven’t been made known to me yet. The mere thought of this leaves me speechless. I have come to understand my Dennie had confidence in my potential more than I ever did. He knew my failings. He chose to love me like Christ loved the church. He became my shield when hard times came knocking at our door and always honored me in front of our sons . My God and Dennie always saw my potential and they have been trying to convince me of this fact for years. The only one who was surprised when I fixed my own hot water heater was myself. God planned that very day in advance and helped me like a daddy coaching a little league softball game. He leaned down and took notice. He had been waiting to see this event and anticipated seeing my confidence grow as I completed the task. Sweet sisters, As you venture out into unknown territory please remember that you have been equipped for every encounter you face, every obstacle you encounter and every hurdle you overcome. God made you to thrive in every circumstance. Often we look to see the progress in our efforts. We need to remember if we are faithful, the process will ensure our continued progress. Dear Lord, Thank you for equipping me with every thing I need to carry out Your purpose for my life. Thank You for Your unconditional love that never gives up on me. Thank You for the gift of David and his willingness to love me despite my lack. Thank You for showing me that my faithfulness to the process has value. Help me to live beyond my fears and embrace my future with confidence. In Your Mighty Name, Amen.
