Phony libertarians- we all see them. We know they are full of shit. Do they know? Here is a handy checklist to present them with to see just how much they care about personal liberties: -Do you believe that there should be laws created/enforced that instruct an individual how to or not to dress? -Do you believe that there should be laws created/enforced that would restrict an individual from medical care based on your personal beliefs? -Do you believe that there should be laws preventing an individual from moving freely back and forth across national borders as long as there is no credible threat to any nations security? -Do you believe that laws should be created/enforced that prevent or limit an individuals right to consume and ingest whatever the individual chooses at their own risk? -Do you believe that laws should be created governing who may or may not engage in any type of relationship based on your personal beliefs as long as the individuals are above the age of consent? If you get a yes answer to any of these questions then the person being questioned is not a libertarian. While libertarianism seems like a good idea, the current manifestation of it in the US is largely filled with individuals that have no idea what the word means. I encourage each of you to try and locate these individuals and show them their error. Just because you are a religious asshole who hates paying taxes doesnt mean you can call yourself a libertarian. Youre making the rest of them look bad.
