Photos from todays 16 mile hike from Ponferrada to Villafranca del Bierzo. Lots of vineyards today. Looks like the grapes are ready to be harvested. At least they taste ripe. I asked someone today how many one had to eat before its considered theft. I do remember reading about Jesus disciples eating grain from edges of fields. Lots of water consumed last two days. Came upon an old wine press in one town. My guide book shows 184 kilometers yet to go to Santiago. There were 790 at one point. The path is rough and rocky and a few blisters are showing. I told someone today that the hardest day here on the Camino was still easier than the easiest day in the AT. Lots of cobblestone streets which dont help. The town Im at now used to be a stop for pilgrims not having enough resources to get to Santiago. They could get absolution from their sins at a door in the cathedral here called Door of Forgiveness. Didnt need it, mine are taken care of.
