I believe every situation/chance in life serves to make a person better no matter if pleasant or bad as per the experience I have had. My experience in StarTimes has strengthened this belief as the two and a half years that I have spent in the company have had a positive impact in both my career and social life. Having worked in different capacities in the HR/Administration department I have dealt with everyone both the management and the juniors and served as a link between the two. I have also done my best to ensure everyone has a good working environment through efficiency in the administration department. I believe as much as I do not get directly involved in sales and marketing I have contributed positively through ensuring the staff get adequate support and convenience in carrying out their duties. This has been achieved through efficiency in management of company resources. I have also come up with a couple of administration department procedures that have streamlined its functions and are still in use to date. Personally, I have been able to grow both career wise and socially. As far as my career is concerned, I have gradually grown from being a receptionist when I first joined the company. I have learned a lot, improved my experience and skills and given back to StarTimes. Socially, due to interaction with a large number of staff, I have formed friendships that would last a lifetime. Both the above have given me a wider scope of perspectives in life. I choose to look at challenges I have had as stepping stones to greater heights as they have made me wiser. One of the challenges I have had is having to make decisions in the course of my work due to different situations that come up and ensure companys policies are upheld and making staff understand the same.
