A new round of such checks are being conducted this year. But this time around, the checks are even more significant, as there are plans to include physical fitness test results in the entrance exams for colleges. If adopted, the new measure would promise to shake up the college admission process for Chinese students. Physical fitness has increasingly become a concern for the authorities in China. A recent survey conducted by the General Administration of Sport showed that 34.4% of people between 20 and 69 are overweight.
