Picked up some nice used music over the wknd. w/some holiday $; mid-70s era Don Cherry ensemble (Hindu-inspired free jazz & funk), Budos Band (solid neo-retro horn-driven groove), a best of Arvo Part 2-CD comp, & the 07 Thurston Moore release demolished thoughts - a wonderful largely acoustic re-working of similar musical themes & sounds from Sonic Youth. SY always one of my favorite bands - got to see them twice in mid-80s Seattle, their 86 EVOL record release @ CBGBs in NYC, 87 in Denver, & once @ Bumbershoot in late 90s.
