Pictured Charles Nungesser & his coffin, candles, & skull. There - TopicsExpress

Pictured Charles Nungesser & his coffin, candles, & skull. There is an annual search for his crashed plane off north American coast. He disappeared the week before Lindberg arrived in Paris, flying the Atlantic in opposite direction with his oppo Coli (another WWI vet). Here in Valenciennes, the hometown of his mother, & where he spent his childhood, hardly anyone knows who the hell he is, & think hes just the football stadium & tram stop. Yes there is a certain truth that the French would rather forget their history. Instead of edit bits they can excise it all at times. On other hand some do know their history for centuries back with pinpoint accuracy - just pity theyre usually ones that talk like a machine gun that i cant follow with my crap French (despite failing the exam narrowly at school & living here, without any contact with English speakers other than belovéd, who doesnt always get the accent, & Ulster/Scots dialect, or other dialects i hijack, for 2 1/2 years).
