Pine Mountain Trail Association Vice President CRAIG MYERS of LaGrange contacted me last night. Yesterday morning, July 13 about 9 am he finished section hiking the Appalachian Trail in Maine! Craig left from Rutland VT on May 27 and hiked this last 518 mile section in 49 days. Folks that is nearly 11 miles a DAY! Tired and ready to get home, he washed clothes and himself a couple times, and got a nights rest in a hostel near the end of the trail. Just talked with him and hes taking three buses to the train station up there and by Wed will be in Charleston via Amtrak (he will meet up with wife Deb there and stay a couple days before heading on home.) Congratulations to Craig aka G-PA, for making the AT!
