#PitchYourPolitics - One of the consequences of my little flirt with politics a couple of weeks ago was me seeing how expensive a hobby it can be, how difficult it is for new candidates to get any sort of exposure, any support from existing in-set networks. Campaigning is a very solitary sport, especially in parliamentary elections. That said, In this light, Maria and I have decided to make the facilities at The Cube Athens available free of charge to as many new (i.e. first time) candidates as we can accommodate over the next few weeks. We already have interest from a few candidates from several parties. The Cube is a forum, a place where we explore ideas. We will offer them space in the common area, whatever closed offices we have left, access to meeting rooms, the main event space for one individual event each and in return well ask that they participate in a final debate/pitch your politics event wed like to do in the final week. While we will try to limit disruption to the normal work of the startups in The Cube, and we of course stress the caveat to candidates that startups are NOT their primary audience, we will encourage the awesome folks in our little ecosystem to influence them and in turn be influenced by them. Well let the candidates make their own announcements should they choose to make use of some of our resources.
