Pixel Press introduces people to the concept of building a video game without the kind of heavy computer coding most K-12 schools aren’t prepared to teach. If nothing else, Rath said the app can get kids thinking logistically about how and why things are designed the way they are. The app has been getting Rath attention in major tech, business and video game news outlets of late. Stories on Pixel Press have been featured in Fast Company, The Verge and Joystiq. Rath started work on Pixel Press in January and plans to release the paid app on both the Apple App Store and Google Play in De-cember. He recently launched a $100,000 campaign on crowd-funding site Kickstarter. As of mid-week, Pixel Press was more than halfway to its goal. The campaign goes through June 14.
