Placdenta Extracts: Last night a friend was talking about how she received a Placenta Hair Treatment as a gift. We arent really sure how placenta can be marketed as helping hair considering that hair is made from dead cells similar to fingernails. Even for skin treatments, it is difficult to see how a placenta extract from another species (surely it is another species, not human?) could help human skin. It isnt alive. The marketing says it is because it has proteins in it, but there may be better protein extracts available. Always good to check Google Scholar for studies.
