Planning the Next Big Thing I’m not sure if God is so concerned - TopicsExpress

Planning the Next Big Thing I’m not sure if God is so concerned about what we do, He cares about the dedication and integrity we put into it 1 Chronicles 22:1-19 Reference: Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the Lord.” (1 Chronicles 22:19 NIV) Explore: I’m about to embark on an overseas trip for work. There is always so much to think about and coordinate when travelling, especially when it’s overseas and involving a group of people. The plans have been in place for months, and as we get closer, I’m amazed at how much more I still need to do. I’ve undergone the necessary vaccinations, I’ve popped into the shops to buy some season-appropriate clothing, but I’m still to organise the correct power adapters and work requirements. While I can’t control everything, I am trying to organise as much as possible to help the trip to go as smoothly as possible. Application: There are lots of things we need to organise in our lives. It might be a trip away, work responsibilities, family activities or assisting with running a church service. Planning for something significant takes time and forethought. When David was planning to build a sanctuary for God he made the preparations a priority. Even though he knew it was his son, Solomon, who would actually build the sanctuary, David started to put some great plans in place. He told everyone to devote their heart and soul towards this significant endeavour. This is a great message for us today too. Whatever we may be planning to do for God, let’s not be haphazard about it. We should be devoting our heart and soul to what we feel we can contribute to God’s kingdom. If its caring for your family, be completely devoted to it. If it’s serving at your church, be completely devoted to it. If it’s setting a Godly example in your work place, be completely devoted to it. I’m not sure if God is so concerned about what we do, He cares about the dedication and integrity we put into it. We may not be building an actual sanctuary, but we each have the ability to build on our own dedication to the Lord. Prayer: Lord, may You search our heart and see our dedication to Your work. Amen.
