Plea for help and legal advice: The parents of a close colleague - TopicsExpress

Plea for help and legal advice: The parents of a close colleague and friend live off the land in an area between Kennard, Pennington, and Crockett, Texas, adjoining the Davy Crockett National Forest. The Iron Will Energy Co. (on behalf of Zaza Energy Corp.) is trying to bring a fracking operation nearby, which would destroy 25 years of efforts to run a self-sustaining property-- i.e. tilapia ponds, massive gardens, compost system, swales, windmills, battery storage, rainwater catchment system, fruit trees, cows, chickens, a passive (rock reed filter) sewer system, and three houses for just the family. They are being asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement to the company in question-- which they fear may be their only means of any compensation or recourse. Their energy for fighting this operation is limited, and they are likely lacking the critical mass of neighbors for action. At the very least, my friend would like a lawyer to take a good look at the nondisclosure agreement to make sure they arent signing their rights 100% away. Can anyone help refer a lawyer or entity with this sort of expertise? Any and all recommendations would be most appreciated!
