Please Muntu, stop it. He found his oil. Recently even his Mirundi was in the media saying those who think Museveni will leave power now when he found his oil and the oil is going to bring him money, those who think like this, they must have maggots in their heads. So brother, please do not get maggots. I will find the other article. -------------------------------- Hoima. Forum for Democratic Change president Mugisha Muntu has told people in Bunyoro not to entrust the NRM with the management of oil and gas proceeds extracted in the sub-region. Maj Gen Muntu was addressing a rally at Hoima Booma Grounds on Wednesday as part of his ongoing countrywide mobilisation to galvanise support for the party. “If this government which is full of thieves is openly stealing taxpayers’ money left, right and centre, what do you think will happen when they land on oil revenues? It will definitely be stolen also,” Gen Muntu said. Commercially viable oil deposits have been discovered in the Albertine region and efforts are underway to develop a refinery by 2018. Gen Muntu urged Ugandans to work for democratic change and vote FDC into power in the 2016 general elections to enable the party implement pro-people programmes and transform their welfare and the country’s economy. He wondered why the Bunyoro sub-region has persistently supported President Museveni and his NRM party despite massive Opposition mobilisation in the region. “We come here before elections and mobilise you. When it comes to elections, you give President Museveni more than 90 per cent. What did the President do for you to keep rewarding him like that?” he wondered. Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo scoffed at Gen Muntu’s remarks, saying national revenues all over the world are entrusted to the sitting government. “Those Opposition raised the same issues in 2006 and 2011. What happened? They did not get any FDC MP or district chairman elected in Bunyoro region. I am not sure if they even got a sub-county chairperson in that region,” he said by telephone. Projects NRM works. The NRM government, according to Mr Opondo has completed a number of projects in the region including the tarmacking of several roads and extension of electricity to a number of areas. monitor.co.ug/News/National/Don-t-entrust-oil-cash-to-NRM--Muntu-tells-Bunyoro/-/688334/2562764/-/yhn511/-/index.html
