Please, Singaporeans, this is what YOU should do if you have a say in HR practices in your firm. Do the decent thing. Help our fellow Singaporeans. This is OUR home. Be patriotic. **** This is concerning the HR firm Randstad: see how this HR agency is manipulating the HR selection process: Guest 16 Oct 2013, 10.40PM My firm had some previous dealings with them...need them to source for some short-term analysts/associates roles. I specifically asked my HR to look out for Singaporeans to be recruited. But all their HR consultants did was to push for all foreigners CV from their own international database. The consultant keep on saying its a tight labour market and no Singaporeans could be found. I didnt believe the FTs story; so ask my firms HR to go one big round to have the job posted on our official website (as some roles are sensitive and we dont want to let our competitors know were recruiting for those positions). In the end, I had at least 50 over Singaporeans - many 2nd upper honours who had been jobless for more than one year after graduation - applying for each position. Some positions even had 200 applicants!!! Consequently, I took the best Singaporean applicants, some of whom without the relevant experience but have the potential to be trained. Oh yah, we terminated the HR-sourcing contract with them... reach.gov.sg/YourSay/DiscussionForum/tabid/101/mode/3/Default.aspx?ssFormAction=%5B%5BssBlogThread_VIEW%5D%5D&tid=%5B%5B13887%5D%5D#top
