Please advise me urgently.... Im sitting in accident and emergency with my 6 year old daughter who has a suspected appendicitis. She is currently hooked up to an iv of antibiotics and awaiting second lot of blood results. The white cell count is yet to be revealed but the acute results showed a high rate of 15o. The worrying thing is Ive just found out that they operate on kids when they just suspect it because theres no other way of diagnosing it as shes too young for a CT scan. Ultra sound isnt accurate apparently. Feeling devastated, worried , stressed. I cant believe this is happening. Any advise from anyone been through similar or any extra tests I can ask for before they go ahead and put her under a general anaesthetic? Please help x
