Please allow me to make a personal point. I have been actively advocating Palestinians rights for three decades.I was and am frequently asked why I dont join the one of the other advocacy group/organization. - Let me give you an example of what one individual person can do. Not to glorify myself but to empower you so you know that all, you included, can act and achieve results. During the cast lead bombing many organizations used Hamas and associated organizations to help bring much needed medical aid to Gaza, Most of it arrived only after months and months. Others used Fatah associated organizations.. Here is what I did..... I called over 100 hospitals in Europe, knowing that there was an urgent need for a pediatric clinic in hospitals in Gaza. ONE hospital in Slovenia, whose resident doctor at the pediatric ward agreed to help. They had just received EU funds to buy a completely new pediatric war from EU countries via EU funds. That despite the fact that they just had bought everything needed for a new pediatric ward.. The hospital agreed to donate the entire ward, all equipment, beds, medicines, everything.. The question was who would pay the transport, get things delivered through Israeli customs. SO, I called the Jordanian Embassy in Denmark. They agreed to pay for the transport and assure the delivery would be cleared by Israeli customs. I got the embassy in touch with the hospital, they arranged the rest, together. The message I want to convey is. I could do it. YOU can do it. Dont waste your time waiting for big charities to act (many of them are politicized anyways). IF YOU ARE SINCERE IN WANTING TO HELP - YOU DO IT. TAKE THE PHONE, MAKE SOME CALLS, MAKE 100 OR MORE CALLS IF NEEDED. MAKE SURE TO USE THE RIGHT ARGUMENTS, NOT POLITICALLY BUT HUMANITARIAN. DONT BE DISCOURAGED BY 99 RESPONSES SAYING NO. IT IS YOU EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON, YOU, AND YOU ALONE. Star believing in yourself and know that your initiative makes all the difference.
