Please attend a planning meeting tonight, Tuesday, 10/15, if you can! I am forwarding an e-mail from the City Planning Dept. They are revising the Coors Corridor Plan. The Coors Corridor Plan is an important Sector Plan that was developed to help preserve and protect the best features along Coors from encroaching development. We would not want to water down the things that guide development which protect these features along Coors. The Coors Corridor Plan already has view regulations, design guidelines and regulations, required landscape buffers along Coors and a 100 ft. buffer along the Bosque. Our concern is that over the years, the development industry has challenged these guidelines and view regulations as being too strict, and would like them changed to their advantage. The plan, which was implemented 29 years ago, has proven its worth to the community. We have many development issues currently underway that require this plan be either maintained as is, or strengthened. I hope you can attend at least one or both of these meetings and continue to stay involved in this process. Rene The City of Albuquerque’s Department Municipal Development (DMD) and Planning Departments have been working on an update to the 1984 Coors Corridor Plan. You are invited to attend the following Public Open Houses to learn about the results of this joint effort, ask questions and provide feedback on proposals in the working draft of the plan: · Tuesday, October 15th, 5.30 – 7:30 p.m. – West Mesa Community Center, 5500 Glenrio NW (East of Coors) · Thursday, October 24th, 5.30 – 7:30 p.m.- Don Newton/Taylor Ranch Community Center, 4900 Kachina Rd NW
