Please consider bidding in this auction run by the Lilly The Hero Pit Bull Fund to help raise training and rehabilitation funds for sweet Fern. Fern is a two year old pit bull who came from the Humane Society of the United States as part of a dog fighting ring bust in Florida. She has scars and marks on her body, the most difficult to wrap your mind around is the scar which indicates that she was strapped to a rape table for breeding. Fern has no human aggression. But she is very shut down when it comes to human interaction. Regarding dogs, she mostly avoids them, but sadly when she first arrived with Braveheart, she attacked her own reflection in the oven door. She has not had dog to dog interaction that was anywhere near normal. Fern needs rehabilitation involving a lot of desensitization and counter conditioning before she will be ready for any adoption. Fern must first learn what the real world is like - and that is is not a scary place to be. Rehabilitation of this kind takes time. A lot of time. To aid Braveheart in this, we would like to raise funds for the training and rehabilitation for Fern. She is a loving and sweet dog who has lived a life of such cruelty that we dare not think too long or too deeply about it. Lets show Fern the kindnesses and love which she so richly deserves.
