Please consider registering for the Laity Leadership Academy - TopicsExpress

Please consider registering for the Laity Leadership Academy offered through the Greater New Jersey Conference. You do not need to have taken any of the Lay Servant courses to attend this course. It will be held at Haddonfield UMC starting on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 5:30 PM and ending on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 4:00 PM. Led by the Conference Lay Leader, Rosa Williams, and including speaker Jay Brown, past Conference Lay Leader, with Bishop John Scholl leading worship on Friday night, this program is sure to help laity learn how to improve their skills and leadership ability. The conference is entitled EMPOWERING LAITY TO LEAD IN VITAL CONGREGATIONS. Registered attendees will choose from one of three workshops -TRACK 1: Creating Vital Small Groups; TRACK 2: Creating an Inspiring Worship Experience; TRACK 3: Creating Evangelism Ministries. It would be great if Broad St. UMC can send enough individuals so we have at least two or three in each workshop. Pre-reading is required and follow-up in the form of an action plan is also expected. Churches are encouraged to send a team of laity to work together on the plans. Find more information here: gnjumc.org/pages/detail/866 and share with other BSUMC members so the word gets out. Registration deadline is 8/23/14.
