Hello everyone we have 10 more days to go!!!! please help out! every little bit helps SOOO much!!!!! Saphichay is working with 13 & 14 year olds from Ventanilla, Lima - one of Limas lowest income communities - So much so that their school doesnt even have paper in the classrooms. This community is comprised of immigrant families from all over Peru which means the classrooms are rich in diversity of culture. Our work with them has been to have them collect traditional stories from their parents and grandparents homes and share them to preserver their traditional stories and as well as to keep the kids connected to their roots. The kids have been invited to perform at an international peace gathering in Machu Picchu Aug 3 of this year. This may likely be the only time many of these students will leave Lima and to perform in front of an international audience is a life changing and enhancing opportunity. This would do so much for their self esteem and value for their own traditional cultures. the cost of continuing this program and getting the kids to Cusco is $5,000. Every amount helps! $25 helps get them one more day of this program, 100 helps get one student to cusco $30 helps us pay for a day of their accommodation out in cusco. $35 helps us get one child a days worth of meals while on the trip.
