new & improved.... The Indian muslims identity crisis… (To love one’s country is worship…watan-e azis se muhabbat aen ebadat hae.) Muslims have been in this identity crisis for a very long time. muslims have not been able to decide which one comes first… religion or motherland. Indian muslims are no different. Because of religion they consider themselves closer to arabs than to their fellow Indian. It is common among the followers of other religions too. No matter where the followers of a particular religion live, they always consider themselves loyal to the place of origin of their faith. Religion is such an evil ideology that it has messed up our priorities and made us believe that everything else in life is secondary compared to religion. There are two reasons for this dilemma among Indian muslims. one, as a muslim they have been told to believe that they are better humans. They are the chosen ones, and they have the duty to make islam dominant in the world. Religion gives us a fake and superfluous feeling of being unique and superior. Trust me it is all nonsense. We are all equal. Only education and character makes us better than others. The second reason has a historical background. Most of the muslims in india are converts, and most of them converted from lower castes and untouchables. They have always been extremely fearful of the majority, because they knew what kind of life they had as lower castes. It is no secret that the lower castes and untouchables in india have been subjugated, abused and exploited for 1000s of years by higher castes. it is even sanctioned in hindu scriptures to make the masses believe that god made them that way. It will not be untrue to say that the untouchables were reduced to the status of sub-human. it was the biggest reason in the conversion of hindu masses into islam. They converted to islam to escape the miserable and horrible life they had had for centuries as hindus. In fact both of the above mentioned factors were behind the partition of india in 1947. Muslims were extremely scared of being wiped out by majority and the muslim league party took the advantage of their fears. My advice to my Indian muslim brothers and sisters is to get rid of the delusion of religion right now. Even though your ancestors suffered so much as lower castes, you will still be better off as non-muslim. You will not feel the despair and misery of being a minority. Slowly but steadily you will become part of the fabric of Indian society as one nation and one people. you will also set the example for our hindu brothers and sisters to follow. I guarantee you that the moment you renounce religion you will feel exhilrated and liberated. Religion is fake and fabricated. It enslaves your mind, takes everything away from you, gives you nothing in return, and makes you totally unfit as human. Nothing good ever comes out of a religion. Think critically.
