Please do let the BBC know that by ignoring a march of 50,000 - TopicsExpress

Please do let the BBC know that by ignoring a march of 50,000 people on their doorstep yesterday they are not fulfilling their responsibilities to the public. Heres what I wrote: It is a real shame that after a 50,000 strong march against austerity measures actually began at BBC Broadcasting House on Saturday 20th June the only coverage on the whole BBC website seems to be a single photo submitted by a member of the public (bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-27945886) and a 25-second video clip with no detailed information about the march (bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-27962963). This seems to be the latest incidence in a rising Right-Wing tendency at the BBC with more and more air-time given to UKIP yet none to the Green Party for example. The BBCs editorial guidelines state that impartiality lies at the heart of public service and is the core of the BBCs commitment to its audiences. In order to fulfil these requirements it seems that a march of 50,000 people through the streets of the capital should be covered more fully, even at a local level. Given that a march of 250 EDL protestors in February was given coverage in Lincolnshire (bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lincolnshire-26316534) with a reporter sent out to interview people from both sides of the argument it surely couldnt have hurt to send someone to your own front door to speak to organisers about the reasons behind the march. Many people rely on the BBC for their news and by ignoring such large-scale demonstrations you are not accurately reflecting the state of Britain at the moment nor the dissatisfaction and unrest that is currently prevalent in many areas.
