(Please excuse any errors in titles.) Empowering people to do what they know needs to be done always pays off. When they are supported by people infrastructure, government resources and good will, there is nothing they cant tackle. We saw that today as Mayor Betsy Price led the kick off for Compassionate Fort Worths Litter Stomp in Stop Six, Texas. Pastor Tim Woody was determined to meet Pastors, deacons, members in Stop Six and that happened today. His co-chair, Pastor Charles A. Robinson knew many. Their leadership of the Mayors Faith Based team came to Stop 6 with the spirit of unity. They joined Pastor Kenneth Sayles building a new church after a fire destroyed their church. Located on Calumet, the new church will challenge drug & criminal activity that found a strong hold near Birdell. Pastor Elvis L. Bowman Sr was dashing to the store to buy more supplies (city ran out). Some of his deacons took volunteers led for Father Jasso to the park. Other deacons supported Pastor James Brown and volunteers cut through more forestry making the church more visible. Christene Chadwick Moss, Gwen Morrison, Melinda Veatch, Kyev Tatum, Melinda Hamilton----more than 200 sets of hands launched out, made friends and we are all the better. Kids faces really lit up when Rev. Tatum told them he was sending their pictures to President Obama for the Our Brothers Keeper Initiative. Today, STOP SIX ROCKED and made friends from North, South, East and West. There are too many names to mention, but I met Gary Cumbies pastor today as well. It was a great day. I took my Timberlands off and will study Sunday School lesson now. Thanks Mayor Betsy!
