Please feel free to share but consider copying my comments when you do... Our alderman shows his colors again regarding an elected school board and it as clear as black and white. Thank-you alderman for further clarifying the distinction between you and me. You have shown your disdain more than once for an elected school board and that fits right in with your 97% voting record with the Mayor. Its about time this ward elected an alderman who believes that we need to relieve the Mayor of his power to appoint the Board and you can be damn sure where I stand on that issue... Ald. Joseph Moore, 49th, introduced the questions about public campaign finance and paid sick leave the same week aldermen supporting the elected school board referendum said they would attempt to resurrect their stalled initiative. It’s not the first time Moore has helped block the elected school board question. In 2012, 10 aldermen first brought the Board of Education referendum forward only to see Moore, who chairs the City Council Human Relations Committee, say he would not allow debate or a vote because the aldermen filed paperwork three minutes too late.
