Please help!! From Karen: This precious girl is heartworm positive, which will be a death sentence with the new shelter policies about to be enacted. You see, heartworms are treatable...shelters will not treat, but rescues will. Unfortunately, very shortly the management at Forsyth County Animal Shelter will be enacting new policies that will not be allowing rescues to pull heartworm positive dogs or pregnant dogs due to some poor interpretation of the spay and neuter state law that we have here in Georgia. I ask you to please share this sweet girl, ID 311, so that perhaps she can find rescue this week before the policies are put into place. YLDR is beyond full with dogs in boarding with no fosters, so we need to find another rescue to save her.
