Our reasoning behind not including stair steppers is because based on industry research, ellipticals, treadmills and bikes have become more popular pieces of general use cardio equipment. We at Planet Fitness want to keep with general fitness and provide our members with the most popular and cutting edge general use and user-friendly fitness equipment. Some of our members in other locations where we have already removed the stair steppers, have found that after a few workouts on the Arc Trainer, they find that it does provide a similar if not more difficult workout (as you can move the incline up and down), as well as the intensity. However, we realize that everyone will feel and experience different results. If you do have any suggestions regarding equipment, we would gladly accept them!
