Please help us make sure that Abbys life means something and can spare other cats what she had to endure! Abby was a front declawed cat who presented to The Paw Project-Utah icteric, anorexic, and severely dehydrated. Her declaw left her with painful osteomyelitis in her P2s and a toe on Xray that was macerated with a surgical tool, leaving a bunch of bone schrapnel in her paw. Turned over to the shelter by the owners who declawed her, Abby was rescued by a rescue group and found her way to The Paw Project-Utah. Sadly, despite the best efforts on the part of PP-Utah staff, the rescue group, and a private donor, Abby succumbed to liver failure and today had to be humanely euthanized. Declawing did not save Abbys life! It ruined it! Please share and help us educate others that declawing DOES NOT SAVE LIVES.
