Front load washer owners- I get many complaints about mold on door seals and the washer smells. Beware Tide sells washing machine cleaner. But it instructs you to select normal wash and hot water and dump the chemical in the tub and start the washer. DO NOT DO THAT ! The first thing the washer does is pump it out to the drain. Tide is making a fortune on this. This is how to do it. Run the washer on heavy cycle for 6-10 minutes, then dump the washer cleaner in the tub. Agitate for a couple minutes. Them open the door and let it sit 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then continue the cycle. Just remember that the washer is going to drain the chemical out in about 10-20 minutes depending on cycle selection. I hope this helps some friends that have the same issues. Also you can leave the door open after washes to help prevent mold build up on the tub seal. Same goes for the dishwasher and The Glisten Chemical for delimeing your dishwasher.Do not put it in until the machine fills and washes. You will be dumping this down the drain as soon as you start the dishwasher if you do what the instructions say to do.
