Clark, father of the reclusive heiress Huguette Clark, and former owner of the United Verde copper mine in Jerome, once the richest copper mine in the world. The museum is in the former high school, which has a front door clad in copper. And the Clarkdale Historical Society, a few doors down, is also worth a visit, with its copies of invitations to high school graduations that were stamped on thin sheets of copper. On display in the Copper Art Museum are more than 5,000 items, every manner of copper item you could imagine: military art, decorative arts, kitchenware, drinkware, and on and on.
