Please join me in prayer today for the over 467 thousand people who live on the islands of Guadeloupe, one larger pair of islands and three smaller islands in the Caribbean Sea. There is religious freedom, but with a strong worldly tendency. Christianity, especially Catholicism, is a cultural veneer for most. The rapid growth of sects and evangelical groups highlights the spiritual emptiness. Occultism and magic are widespread influences. Pray for GODs Holy Spirit to convict of sin and bring many to true repentance. A strong network of churches has sprung up, supplemented by several other recent denominational arrivals. Many evangelical groups practice strict, even legalistic, codes of conduct in order to avoid moral compromise and occult influence. Pray for a greater degree of unity, collaboration and a profound understanding of the freedom to be found in Christ. Child Evangelism Fellowship runs Good News Clubs, trains workers to evangelize children and has a weekly radio broadcast and correspondence course for children. A Christian FM station runs 24/7 and there are other Christian broadcasts from outside Guadeloupe available on radio, TV and the Internet. Thank you for praying.
