Please join the global march in your city for elephants and rhinos this coming Saturday. Tri-state friends, hope to see you in NYC! Elephants and rhinos are being brutally slaughtered or hunted senselessly at an alarming rate every day. They cant win this battle without our help. Like us, elephants have strong sense of family. Each one has his or her unique personality. They feel emotions similar to ours, and even feel envious, jealous, and throw tantrums. They are known to mourn deeply and have excellent memories. They display compassion for others and help those in adversity. We can imagine that the horror of whats happening to their kind is compounded in their minds by the empathy they feel for one another. They know whats going on. They know they are being killed, except that they dont know why. One of the most heart wrenching things to see is traumatized baby elephants dying without the mothers milk or protection. Families are often scattered or lost after an attack. On the contrary, its really wonderful to watch elephants at play when they are happy and having fun.
