Phyllis Ann Knight Harris STOKESDALE – Phyllis Ann Knight Harris, 83, of 621 Saddlebred Loop, died Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Wesley Long Community Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Stokesdale Christian Church with Reverend Randy Winn and Reverend Jeff Mabe officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Harris was born August 5, 1930, in Rockingham County, to the late Robert G. Knight and Gray Vernon Knight. She was retired as co-owner/operator with her husband, Sonny Harris, of the accounting firm Local Service Systems and a member of Stokesdale Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. “Sonny” Harris. Survivors include daughter, Julia “Judy” H. Martin, of Stokesdale; brothers, Robert G. Knight, Jr., of Lillington, and William “Putt” Knight, of Madison; sister, Eloise K. Martin, of Madison; grandchildren, Brock Harris Martin and wife, Abby, and Ivy M. Martin and boyfriend, Ben Silvers; great-grandson, Benjamin Reid Silvers; and godchildren, Kimberly Scott, Tammy Smith and Jimmy Smith. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Stokesdale Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 8607 Stokesdale Street, Stokesdale, NC 27357. Special thanks to the staff of Wesley Long Palliative Care Unit.
