Please kindly be informed that NEKA has been engaged in negotiations and consultative meetings with Governmant regarding our envisaged mass demonstration to hand over the petition to state house. Today we were represented by NEKA Executives together with the Leadership of the children of the liberation struggle at the okahandja park camp. While Government was represented by the Prime minister as chair of the meeting, The minister of Youth and sports, The minister of safety and security, The Inspector General, The Attorney General and representatives from the presidency The consensus was that we hold back our intentions for now, pending the outcome of the inquiry currently underway. We therefore would like to inform you against this backdrop that the mass demonstration has been called off for now. Any other inormation as may arise will be communicated to you all. It will suffice to mention that we came to an agreement with regard to what we perceived as gains from these engagements, whose details will be commucated in due course. We can confidently assure you that today was a good day for NEKA We thank you for your patience during these difficult times.
