Please know that ANNIES has sold out to General Mills who actively - TopicsExpress

Please know that ANNIES has sold out to General Mills who actively supports GMOS and tries to undermine efforts for transparency in labeling GMOs. This is why THIS house no longer buys the little bunny any longer. No way, no how. CANCER ANYONE? GMOs MUST GO! While I love the Non-GMO Project and love their label, I am devastated by this move. Here is my rant to their post. Believe me I am not the only one. Not by a LONG SHOT. We have to get SERIOUS about where are consumer dollars are going. *********** Non-GMO Project: [in your reply to the outrage] You say this, The consumer voice is incredibly powerful and we truly believe it has the power to move mountains. What we are clearly saying is YES, the consumer voice is VERY powerful. And, we will not continue to support products that support GMOs. Annies being bought out by GM, who is actively supporting NON LABELING OF GMOs SHOULD be boycotted to make THE most powerful statement of all. Fool me once... We just wont have it. The battle is THAT serious. I think you are making a failure in wisdom here. You have so much power. But, you are cutting yourself off at the knees by continuing to support Annies after the move to GM. This is the same thing with say, Pepsi, who has all of these natural products, yet fully support NON LABELING of GMOs so they can peddle that crap onto unsuspecting victims. What we are saying here is we care not only about ourselves, about the GMO battle (being won) but ALSO about our neighbors. If we BOYCOTT Annies for its move (and thus GM), maybe things will change. We know the ONLY thing they listen to is market share. You have said so DIRECTLY yourself!!!! So, how is it the right thing to support Annies NOW? It is precisely what we should NOT be doing. It would make a MUCH more powerful statement. I agree with some above who have said the Non-GMO Project has just come down a notch in my book and I look for the label and sing your praises all day long. Especially here on my husbands cancer page: facebook/helpGalenandhisfamilybeatcoloncancer I hope you regroup, review, and reverse your stance on this. This is not going to the be LAST sellout to traitors. The big brands KNOW they must embrace NON-GMO on the one hand, but think they cannot afford (which is a lie) to go ALL Non-GMO, so they want to have their cake and eat it too. ANNIES IS A TEST CASE. Can you not see that? It is THE MOST IMPORTANT battle in this overall war. I am so completely devastated by your choice. With a husband with cancer it is INFINITELY more important to me we GET THE DAMN GMOS out of the food supply. 1/2 Men and 1/3 Women WILL get cancer in their lifetimes. Think GMOs have anything to do with it? Heck, yeah!!!!! We cant do it if we compromise. Annies is a compromise. GM is actively against the NON-GMO movement. This is not a half-in, half-out proposition. You are either for us or AGAINST us. That means, GM is against us. What about NON-GMO PROJECT? Ugh. Sorry. Just really upsetting to now read your actual response. You have made a terrible lapse in judgement and you had so much going for you, too.... Now, I dont even know if I can trust the NON-GMO label.... Holy Cow! Where is my money going IN REALITY? Am I through the backdoor supporting GMOs and cutting off my hand to spite my face? Think. Think. Think. Think. You are BETTER than this. Sincerely, Dana Wixson
