Please lets all remember while celebrating the results of the Maricopa County GOP Election & Resolution Results, the work isnt done and all of those who made this happen the work now lies ahead in being able to keep the Fire Burning Bright to continue to remove Sen. McCain & others from moving AZ to a more Liberal looking & voting GOP, and also remember always to check the Voting Records and the Contribution Records of those you support even in a straw poll . God Bless You All; Clair Crossroads with Van / AZS Constitutional Conservative Coalition KICK THE HORNET’S NEST, AND SOMEBODY WILL GET STUNG Tyler Bowyer’s election on Saturday as the new chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party was immediately seen as a failed coup by McCain and his loyalists. Bowyer edged out Lisa Gray during a runoff, 983-904. (Former AZGOP chairman Tom Morrissey lost in the first round, and he then asked his supporters to back Bowyer.) “John McCain was the big loser. John McCain lost all the way around,” out going Chairman AJ La Faro declared in an email to supporters. He made no attempt to hide his glee that Salmon won the straw poll as the PCs’ preferred US senatorial candidate, and that loyalists rebuked the “establishment” wing of the party, as shown by their answers to survey questions. “John McCain was a mediocre 39 votes [in the straw poll], ” La Faro said, adding that the candidate for chairman backed by the US senator – Lisa Gray – lost. “The survey issues speak volumes with regards to the fact that John McCain is out of touch with his constituents in Arizona, and he really needs to just not seek reelection, serve out his term and retire to his ranch up near Sedona. ” La Faro also brought up reports of McCain’s big “purge” to rid the party structure of tea party activists (YS, 12/30). La Faro told our reporter “I hate to say this. He’s pathetic, old and vindictive. THOSE ARE RHETORICAL QUESTIONS The survey questions posed to PCs on Saturday were clearly designed to push back against McCain’s purge, as well as the idea that Republican victory in elections over-rides all other considerations, including where the candidates stand on hot-button issues. One of the questions summed it up: Should Republican PCs be openly critical of elected officials that do not support the GOP Platform and the US and Arizona Constitutions? The vote was 315-39 in favor. When the PCs were asked if the Tea Party element should be “purged” from leadership, they said “no,” 38-318. When asked if conservatives should elect more like them rather than “moderate” their actions for harmony’s sake, the answer was also lopsided landside, 285 to 59. Finally, La Faros’ resolution urging the AZGOP to close Republican primaries was overwhelmingly adopted, 1,225 to 596 in favor of adopting a closed primary. QUOTE OF THE DAY by AJ La Faro Former Maricopa GOP Chairman “I hate to say this. He’s pathetic, old and vindictive.”
